115 - What gets you out of bed in the morning? It’s not purpose or pressure. It’s presence
Purpose and pressure aren't the only motivators. This episode explores how presence, the awareness of being part of something meaningful, can become your most grounded reason to show up each day.
It’s Not Always About Purpose. Sometimes It’s Just About Being Awake to the Moment.
We’ve all been asked:
“What gets you out of bed in the morning?”
Some answer with purpose.
Others answer with obligation, urgency, or ambition.
But in this episode of Pattern Cognition, we explore a third often overlooked reason:
Presence.
Here’s what that means:
• Presence is quite a motivation.
It doesn’t shout. It doesn’t demand. It simply reminds you: you’re here, and this moment is worth showing up for.
• You don’t need to be driven every day.
Some days, it’s enough to wake up and participate. Fully. Not to perform, but to witness and engage.
• Purpose can be seasonal. Presence is daily.
The chance to be alive remains constant even when clarity around goals or mission fades.
• Pressure eventually burns out. Presence sustains.
When you’re motivated only by external expectations, the system eventually collapses. Presence, on the other hand, is renewable.
• Presence creates depth.
You’re not rushing into the day, you’re inhabiting it. And that makes everything you do more grounded, more real, more human.
This episode invites you to consider a new kind of motivation.
Not the one you chase, but the one that meets you each morning if you’re willing to notice it.
Listen to this episode of Pattern Cognition to reconnect with the moment and lead from a deeper place.
